Hi all,
We have been away from wifi access for a couple of days - none in Kingman Super 6 motel, and the one in Sundance has been down. Back in business though, so will do better.
We left Fillmore and made good time, til we got through Los Vegas, and hit highway 93. It passes over the Hoover Dam, and as it was a holiday, there was about two miles of traffic waiting to get to where ever it was going. Took about two hours to clear it. Noticed though that they are in the process of building a new road over the damn - and I do mean over. Road support towers looked to be about 50 feet tall, so we assume that the road will bypass the tourist parking and stuff, and we'll be able to just motor.
We got as far as Kingman, and stopped for the night. Nice motel, (Super 6) but they didn't have wifi. We stopped in Mesquite to get gas, money, and a sub for lunch. Assumed that we'd find a nice rest stop down the road towards Vegas, have lunch and get braced up for the Vegas traffic. No place to stop, so we just motored on. Finally had our "lunch" at the motel. We intended to have a light dinner, late, at the restaurent across the parking lot, but got interested in the movie, Sound of Music, so by the time we went to the restaurent, it was closed! Three chocolates for dinner. Living on the fat of the land didn't really do it, but Oh Well.
An easy drive the next day, New Years eve, to Casa Grande. Got set up and immediately got invited to a soiree to celebrate the New Year. Good people down here.
We'll spend the next couple of days just relaxing, and then get down to some serious goofing off at the local tourist attractions.
Did manage to find a car wash, and flush a load of Idaho down the drain. The truck really is red! Today or tomorrow, depending on the wind, we'll wash the trailer.
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL OF YOU!!
C/J
