Cerewo Lewang: The town we stayed in!
| Hello all! Dad and I have been in Cerewo Lewang (Central Java) for the last few days. We were out of contact with the outside world with no internet access. Bromo is a volcano that blew its top several years ago. The area was beautiful! We were up in the hills around a few volcanoes and many terraced farms. We escaped the heat up there as the nights and mornings were cold. We rented a jeep and driver to go to the top of a peak that over looked the whole area for sunrise. Our driver also took us to the base of Bromo and we walked to the top of the crater. It is still active along with another volcano in the area. Bromo had steam coming out of it constantly and the biggest volcano (Semeru) erupted steam about every fifteen minutes. We had a wonderful time up there but now it is time for some hot weather fun! On to BALI! |
