The Alamo with Christmas Lights

Lights along the riverwalk

Too much walking, we had to rest !

Nice downtown San Antonio scene.

We took a night to go into San Antonio to see the lights on the Riverwalk. We understand the lights are beautiful at night when the sun goes down. So we connected with our new friends Sally and Jerry, they drove. After walking around the area for a little while, we ate dinner on the edge of the riverwalk at Casa DelRio. After alittle while a stolling mariachi band came by, for $10 you get your choice of music we chose a happy lively tune. The food was average but the music was superb. Then later we walked to the Alamo for lighted pics of that area. We weren't disappointed.

One of the surprises of the night was pre-game festivities for the Penn state and Texas A&M game at the Alamodome. There were alot of Penn State supporters along the Riverwalk, all of them going to the amphitheatre for a pre-game rally. The Texas A&M band rode in the riverboats playing music.

Enjoy the pictures.

Another peculilarity of Texas life is they celebrate New Years with firecrackers here. You can stop by any one of hundreds fireworks stands and buy them for taking home and setting them off. All legal. We expect to have alot of them setoff over the lake near our RV space.
