|Yesterday when we awoke, we found the temperature outdoors to be 66 degrees. Great! We were going to Mingo's for breakfast so we didn't have coffee at home. We drove over to pick up Sherry & Rick and then went into town to Mingo's for a really good breakfast. Sherry ordered the breakfast tacos while the rest of us ordered yuevos rancheros. All of the food was really good and we cleaned our plates, drank several cups of coffee, and had ourselves all energized and ready for golf.
By the time we arrived at the golf course we noticed that the temperature had dropped 3 degrees, the skies were overcast and there was a gale force breeze blowing. Perfect golf weather! :)
We talked about putting off the golf for another day but none of us wanted to be the one who woosied out, so off we went. I had to stow my cap because the wind kept blowing it off. The only straight shots were.....well, there were no straight shots. We decided to play a two person scramble to save time, so Rick & I played against the girls, who held their own very well.
Rick hit one ball quite high in the air and it appeared off the tee, to be destined to arrive about 250 yards down the fairway. However, once it got up into the wind it just decided to hover there and then turn back toward us. Sheeeesh!
I hit one ball which made a right hand turn and joined the pelicans in the river. It was fun though! The guys managed to shoot a 46 for nine holes while the girls managed a very respectable 51. We could only play nine holes due to a league which had the course reserved.
We gathered in the clubhouse for a bite of lunch and then went drove around looking at park model homes, stopping in to visit with Heinz & Irene and with Gilbert & Louise.
We then drove over to the pool hall to shoot some pool. Marilyn and I played against Rick & Sherry. I think we played ten games of eight ball with each team winning one game by skill. The other games were lost, rather than won, by one person or another scratching on the eight ball.
Then it was time to head back to our respective abodes to rest up, clean up, and get ready for dinner at Teri's Bistro.
Rick & Sherry drove to Teri's and we arrived early enough to have some time to explore this beautifully decorated restaurant.
We had just been seated when Gilbert & Louise and Heinz & Irene joined us. We had a fine meal with more lively conversation, good food, good wine, and good company. Life is Good!
By the time we returned to the resort, I was ready for my afternoon nap/bedtime all in one. I was asleep by shortly after 9:00 PM and didn't wake up until Marilyn informed me that it was 6:30 this morning.
The temperature this morning is 53 degrees and we have a fun day planned.
I'll tell you about it tomorrow. Right now I just can't wait to see what this day has in store.....
