Chuck & Jan - 2008 & 2009 travel blog

Started off with a really good day. Roads were about as good as they could be, and the smiles were huge. Really enjoyed the trip up the Big Belt pass. Lots of rugged mountains, and nice scenery. We crossed the Missouri at least three times.

The Moneida Pass was also a breeze. Roads were bare, and just put on the cruise control and let 'er roll. Looked at the maps, and said Idaho Falls was not out of sight. It wasn't, but we began to get a wind, and the resulting mini ground blizzard. Still not a real problem.

About a half hour out of Idaho Falls, it began to snow, and the roads began to get a bit dicey. Slowed down to about 70 k, and by the time we reasched Idaho Falls, there was about four inches of snow on the ground. More important, there was that much on the roads. We found a Super 8 motel after wandering around Idaho Falls for a while. (A friendly service station attendant helped out). The forecast is for the snow to continue until Sunday, so we'll look at the road maps tomorrow morning, then decide whether or not to sleep the day away.

Thought we'd take a picture but a sheet of white paper wouold look like the ground. Saves time and space if you just look at one.

We need to keep reminding our selves that WE HAVE NO SCHEDULE, so kwityourbitchin' Szuch.

Delvered pizza for dinner, but we did bring our own bottle of wine.
