Yesterday was a magnificent day with temps in the low 80's, a nice breeze, sunny skies and palm trees swaying in the breeze. It doesn't get any better than this!
I left early in the morning, after our coffee time, to pick up another ball player. We had our first practice game and it was a lot of fun. Our team lost by a score of 18-14, but everyone had a good time. I did go 4 for 6 at bat and played catcher, 1st base and 3rd base during the game. The excersize was good for these aging bodies. :)
Returning home, it was time for a shower and some clean clothing, a sandwich for lunch, and a lounge chair on the patio with a good book to read. Doug stopped by to visit and he was telling us about his car that he has built. It is a '32 roadster with a rumble seat, etc. Painted candy apple red and absolutely a show car, with a mustang motor and tranny. Awesome! He came by later to show me pictures of it but I was down the street visiting with Gilbert when Doug came by with his photos.
In the evening , Dan & Pat, along with Ted & Sue and Marilyn & I, drove to the golf course club house for karaoke night. We had not been to this event before and it was enjoyable. Some of the singers were quite bad, a few were good and then there was our friend, Pat, who sang "Honky Tonk Angels". There is no doubt, a STAR has been born!!
We had a wonderful time with our friends, and laughed all the way home.
Marilyn and I watched a little TV and then I went to bed to read before dropping off to sleep.
We slept with the windows open last night and when we awoke this morning the temperature outside was only 52 degrees. Brrrr. Inside with the windows open it was only 60 degrees and Marilyn cuddled really close to me under the covers. I finally got out of bed and closed some windows before turning on the fireplace to make us nice and cozy.
Marilyn has the coffee on and we will get started on another day in paradise.
Life is so good! I just can't wait to see what this day has in store.....
