After our lunch stop in Ouarzazate (War-za-zat), we continued east to the Dadés Gorge. The terrrain became much flatter and we passed more and more police checkpoints.
Apparently, these are quite the norm, however, the King (Mohammed IV) was staying at his summer palace, which was on our route to the Gorge. Built in the middle of no where, you couldn't miss it for all the palm trees and greenery in the midst of nothing but scrub brush and dust.
Our hotel was really cold as half of us ended up in rooms in the basement. We stole the propane heater from the hallway to warm up the room a bit.
Another night spent freezing our jubblies.
