Day 5 Mon 3rd Dec Country No. 47 Botswana
Today my safari with the Africa Tour company officially starts leaving Victoria Falls and crossing into Botswana arriving at the Chobe National Park. After a brief stop in town, we head to the campsite on the Thebe River in Chobe where the group splits. Some remain, the lucky ones (including me) head off for a sunset wildlife drive through the Chobe national park. This is my first real game drive and beginners luck in play, we come across a pride of lions feeding on what we think is an Impala. Delighted I snap away as we watch them feed and occasionally get angry and roar at each other when one of the lions believe they aren't getting their share of the kill.
After also spotting a Hyena, a wild elephant a cute squirrel and Poomba the warthog, we arrive at our luxury camp spot right in the middle of this National park. Our 5 star luxury tents are already setup and are complete with doonas and pillows. The scariest part of this adventure is knowing any number of wild animals could come into our site throughout the night. Scared stiff of needing to get up to pee in the middle of the night, we all hold off drinking to much and after our late meal, we head off to bed because the bugs were insane and we have a early 4.45am wake up call.
