Wow, so today I covered a lot of the country...it was an adventure.
Actually, the adventure started in Guadalajara where it took us three buses to get to the airport. But it meant I only spent 15 pesos getting there, horray!! :) It was quite calm too, thanks to both my mother and Leonie's mother instilling the need to be early for trips. So we spent almost two hours in Guadalajara's airport. Which by the way, strikes me as both adorable and quite small. Everything is different, even the gates, but really adorable. Mm, at a natural foods restaurant they were selling Ramen noodles...and I enjoyed the irony.
So, the reason I was at the airport was to take a plane to Cancun. The flight was a sinch, left on time, they gave us lots of food, everything went great. We went straight from the airport to Playa del Carmen, merely because we couldn't get to Tulum straight from Cancun. Tulum was our final destination, and by the time we got there we were quite ready to be off buses. In Playa we found our friend and fellow volunteer Tess, which is a wonderful adition to our band. She is going to travel with us...most of the time, we think. The beauty of this travel is that plans are so very loose :)
