Saturday morning we made a visit to the State Capital Building in Raleigh. Although many offices have been moved to a newer building nearby, there was still a sense of the history that had taken place here, especially in the State Library Room and State Geology Office, restored to their 1850's appearance. As the girls were eager to do some sightseeing outside their immediate area, we spent Saturday afternoon at Raven Rock, a North Carolina State Park. Hiking trails and a view of the Cape Fear River were the highlights of our visit.
