|So we left SUnday morning to meet a family member in Mittenwald. We had a six hour train ride and getting towards the end we got so nervous! We were supposed to meet Susanne at the train station at 330, but we had no idea what she´d look like. We actually found her right away. She is so nice! She lives in a tiny little town in the middle of some huge mountatins with her husband. He´s off taking mountaineering winter courses. He´s a real outdoors person. The town is incredible! Its what you´d think a little village in germany should look like. Covered in snow, some gingerbread like houses. The tallest building in town is the church steeple. If anyone is going to visit germany they absolutely have to visit this place! We walked from the train station threw town to their flat. It´s so cute and cozy. Its above a stinky cheese shop. When you go in the door downstairs it smells like cheese. But once you get upstairs, no stinky cheese smell. We sat and talked for a while and then decided to take a look around town. Ute (susanne´s mom) told her that she had to show us all around town and tell us the history. Turns out Ute´s knows a lot more about the town because when she came to visit she took all the town tours. So we have to tell Ute that we were told all kinds of history. Its truly small and peacefull. Some of the buildings are painted with religious scenes all over. They are amazing. Lots of woodwork and detail on the eaves. Then we walked up one of the hills to get a nice view of the town from above. The sun was just going down. Everything was covered in snow and there was a beautiful golden light on everything. We don´t want to leave.
