Thousand Trails, Gloucester, VA
Jonathan was still running a fever today. We were about out of Tylenol and I needed to pick up a couple more things for Thanksgiving dinner so I ran to Walmart while Jonathan stayed home with Tom. When I was coming back to Thousand Trails, I put the gate code in and the gate wouldn't raise for me. I kept trying the two codes we had for the past couple weeks and no luck. I got out of the Yukon and walked toward the guy that was filling propane tanks for people. He hollered and told me to use the phone and call the main office.
I saw a man standing by him that looked like Rich Carpenter. (We met Rich and his wife, Carol, in Texas when we first bought the RV.) I looked at the truck and then realized that is WAS Rich! Once I made it through the gate, I pulled over by him and waited for him to get done talking then called him. I don't think he realized who I was at first. When he did, it was fun. He got a big smile on his face and said "Howdy stranger!" We talked for a while and then he suggested I drive up to knock on the door at their rig and surprise Carol. I did and I guess I really surprised her. It was so fun. We sat and talked for quite a while. Rich went over to do the same to Tom and Jonathan. We ended up deciding to do Thanksgiving together on Thursday.
Tonight we fixed the steaks Tom had picked out for his birthday dinner. I baked a couple potatoes and we had a nice meal. Jonathan wasn't up for the meal but he came to the table and sat while he ate a granola bar.
Jonathan has been feeling better today but still not quite back to his old self. I hope he's feeling better by tomorrow.
