My entries will be getting shorter now as I build up to the more important news when I am back in Anzano in a few days.
I head for Siena today to have a look around and buy up as much "Siena" gear as I can to take home - my daughter Siena will appreciate this effort some day !.
I get there quickly as it is not far and have not booked any accommodation as I was not sure if I was going to stay.
I make it to the city that is totally enclosed in a protective wall. I park the car away from the main area and walk on to town - this later was small mistake.
It is n amazing city with small streets and alleys filled with shops and the like. I find my way to Piazza del Campo and into the info centre. There I meet some Australians and we have a chat - turns out they know someone in Daylesford and are also buddies with David Campese - they ask why I am there and I tell them the story - they freak out and ask me to have lunch with them later. They were staying in a really nice place not far away so I satyed there as well - turns out to be a nice hotel.
After a big shopping spree I head off back to my car - hmmmmmmm, which street was that now - no not that one - perhaps this one - no not that one - perhaps this one - this goes on for some time but eventually I find it - a tad frightened at the thought of not finding my car with all my gear in it - scary - lesson learned though.
Check in to the hotel and basically drop after that little stressful episode.
You can laugh if you like - those that know me can imagine how stressed I would have been !
