Hello Everyone.

We took a while to update about Poland because we weren't quite sure how to word it. Here goes anyways...

The train ride from Bratislava to Krakow wasn't bad, we narrowly made our connection but got one safe and were headed for Krakow.

We found our hostel, which was highly recommended and they showed us to ur room. THe room was a disaster. Clearly it hadnt been cleaned as there was a broken lamp, bed and someone elses clothes. They switched us to another semi clean room for the night. It was late so we just had a drink and headed for bed.

Day 2 was semi nice weather so we decided to make to trek out to see the Austchwitz Museum. We got on a guided three hour tour. The tour was very in depth and very interesting. It was a very sobering experience but were both glad to have done it.

We were lucky to catch our bus back to town and actually had to run for it. Limited seats had Lara and I not sitting together. No Big D, right? About 2 minutes after we get on, two large Polish ladies got aboard. Though there were a number of single seats at the front, they made they way straight for me! They must have thought I was Santa Claus, because one of them basically sat on my lap! Lara says the look on my face was priceless. I removed my leg from under hers, and cowered in the corner for the rest of the 2 hr. drive back. Dinner at a polish pub in town that night.

Our last day was spent walking all over town, to the Old Town, Jewish Quarter and train station to get our ticket for the 7am train to prague in the morning. It really was a great town and we enjoyed it alot. While in the Jewish Quarter, we stopped into a pub for some R-E-S-T. We met three guys from Britain who were hilarious and spent a few hours with them. It was great to hang out and chat with them. Feeling all warm and fuzzy we grabbed dinner and were going to have a drink in the hostel bar to kill time as we had an early train.

Thats when we met Dwayne.

Dwayne is a 35-40 year guy who is from Cinncinatti but has a British Passport. I think he must have been drinking for three days straight. As soon as we sat down he came over and begain talking to us. He repeatedly told us that he knew Wayne Ronstadt and kept singing "on the road again" He also told us that he just got in today, but has been here for 18 months. Our favourite quote was " I LOVE Paris Hilton, man...for who she is man...as a person!" I cant begin to tell you how uncomfortable we were with this guy. He then did something that I will not write here, because it needs to be explained in person. We finished our drink at warp speed and bolted from the bar. He began to follow us and wanted to do shots with us. I think Lara was already up the 3 flights of stairs to our room when I told him that it was getting late and we really need to be up early for our train. We left the bar and went to bed. It was 800pm.

We slept til about 230 and couldnt sleep anymore but had to wait until 6 to go. We sat up and talked about how awful Dwayne was for the next 4 hours. We dont know what his real name was, but since he made reference to wayne Rondstad all the time, and we thought he was a dumbass, we called him Dwayne.

Off to Prague that morning, regretting ever going into the bar that night.

Krakow was great. Dwayne was not.

Talk soon,

Paul and Lara
