With so much to see and so little time we decided to do the city tour, which takes you around all of the major sights enabling you to hop on and off as you please.
First we went past Mission Beach on our way to the Auckland Museum. Next we went to Mount Eden, the highest point in Auckland, and just around the corner from where we are staying. The views across the city from here were excellent. After going past a few more sights, including Eden Park where the Auckland Blues play, we next got off at the Victoria Park Market for lunch and a bit of shopping.
When we had completed the tour we took ferry to Devenport, a suburb on the other side of the harbour. Here we had a look around the shops and climbed Mount Victoria (not as impressive as it sounds it is only 90m high!). Here we sat and watched the sun go down over the harbour. It was an excellent way to end our time in New Zealand.
Back at the hostel it was time to pack and get ready to return to Australia. It was here when Clare made the comment of the trip so far, "I am gutted we have got to go to Sydney tomorrow!"....how our lives have changed!
