We have just arrived in Florence, after spending the last 3 days in a ghost town.(it fitted in quite well for halloween) We stayed in Montesilvano, which was just outside the city of Pescara. The area had very nice photos and it would have been really nice in summer, but with 3 days of solid rain and wind, the place turned out to be a bit of a hole,,,but good for a bit of r and r. To give you an idea of how much of a hole it was:our daily highlight was going to a cinema shopping complex (about 1/4 of the size of the woolstores in freo, but with a cinema attached) to have dinner at a pizzeria and lunch at the food court (which had 2 different food options). The hotel was nice (it was like going into a 60's hotel) and it was better to spend 3 days of poor weather there than in a really good spot. Pescara was also quite nice to walk around. We spent a day in there looking through shops, eating at a nice lunch spot and walking around in the rain.
