Disclaimer: Sorry we have not updated in a while but it has been a wild week running around italy with Carla and Mark and Trish and didn't want to take up too much time on the ol'internet.
Naples.
After our wonderful stay with Diane and her smelly dog, we were excited to head for somewhere new. While in Salerno, we took all of three minutes to book our Naples hostel so we were a little nervous about what we were gettign into. Turns out that the hostel is run by a local Neopolitan(?) around my age. we were able to get a room with three beds and our own washroom. ( a huge plus according to the girls). The hostel owner was fantastic and gave us tons of advice on good spots to check out, eat at and other interesting facts about the city. He was providing us with the real authenticity that Diane sorely missed the boat on.
When we did arrive however it was rainy, it was a sunday and most things were closed. Everyone and their brother told us that Naples was rough town, so that got in our heads a bit but we made our way around, trying to fit in. Had a great dinner at a small little place and called it a night.
Day two was fantastic weather so we got up early and hit the town. we literally must haved walked a good 40 miles that day. All through the historical centre down along the water (stopping for pizza and gelato along the way of course). We ended the afternoon hiking up to this big park looking over the cliffs on the bay of Naples.
The people of naples were amazingly friendly and helpful and we had a great time in a plce we hadn't originally planned on going to. Stay tuned for pics on our kodak gallery site.
Rome is next to meet up with Mark and Trish!!!
ciao ciao,
PandL
