Cross Country Adventures travel blog

Wednesday morning, we woke to another cloudy day in Memphis and again, it drizzled all day. After breakfast, we headed to the mall for something to do. David walked around while I got my hair cut, we had lunch, then went back to the hotel. It was about 5:00 p.m. when MHC Ford Memphis called to say the motor home was ready to go. We decided we would stay at the hotel another night and pick up the motor home in the morning after first going to the insurance office to pick up our cheque.

So this morning we were ready to go by 8:00 a.m. but we had to wait for the claims adjuster to call us. It was almost 10:00 a.m. when she finally did and we drove over to her office right away to pick up our cheque. She also gave us the cheque for the repairs, which we handed over to MHC Ford Memphis. It was 12:45 p.m. by the time we got on the highway. Total cost for repairs was $2,200.00. Not cheap! It's a good thing it was all covered by the insurance. One thing we can say is that everyone here in Memphis that we dealt with regarding this incident was cooperative and understanding. That includes the insurance claims adjuster and the service people at MHC Ford Memphis. And the people here in the hotel and all the restaurants we went to are also very friendly. So although it started as a stressful situation, we ended well and we survived.

We just couldn't wait to get out of town and get back on the road again though. Once we went past that cursed exit 260 on I-40, I breathed a sigh of relief. Now we're cookin'. Tonight we are parked in a Wal-Mart parking lot in Morrilton, Arkansas. We have no electricity so no internet. Will have to post this Friday.
