It was raining off and on this morning when it was time for us to leave, so we got a later start than usual. It rained on us until about Richmond. The farther south we drove on I-95, the clearer the sky became. However, the big front that has been moving east caught up with us around 5:00.
We had to call several campgrounds before we found one with space for us. We were about to decide to boondock in a Wal-Mart parking lot. Finally we found room at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park in Emporia, Virginia.
After we had rested a while, Barb and I went to Applebee's for dinner. We had a coupon from the campground for a 15 percent discount on our meals, so we decided to take advantage of it.
Tomorrow Barb and I will go our separate ways. I will miss her. It has been nice having someone to ooh and aah with on this trip. If she decides to stay a little longer in Savannah than planned, I may be able to catch up with her again. I'll be visiting some friends in Newport News this week end and some in North Carolina after that.
