Now it was the last leg of the journey for the day! We stopped in Graaf- Reinet for petrol and then headed to the Karoo National Park to Winky (Pip's sister - another Hobson daft nickname) and John's farm which is nestled in the valley in the middle of the park! We were trying to get there before dark but didn't quite make it... Winky's farm is an ostrich farm and the farmhouse is beautiful! It was build around a quaint courtyard and ahs wonderful big rooms.

The minute we walked in we were made very at home. No sooner had we unloaded the car then we were all set tasks to help with dinner! When i got to the kitchen mum and Claudine had already been set the task of making dessert. Before long mum was volunteered to carve the venison and the rest of us were taken outside to ge the lambs in! 4 were tiny and still needed to be inside at night - they were very cute!

Once dinner was ready we all sat around the beautiful big old table and tucked into the venison stew which was delicious! We all enjoyed our dinner! John headed off to his friends to watch the England v Tonga rugby match as their TV was playing up. Turned out it just needed a woman's touch to fix it!

Before we knew what was happening Claudine herded the rest of us into the lounge and we found ourselves sticking labels on bags for 'Winky's Wonderfully Wicked Walnuts'! There is about 100 walnut trees on the farm and they've had a bumper crop this year so as many as possible needed to be done! We soon got into the flow of it and I think we got quite a lot done! I was also able to keep an eye on the rugby and was pleased to see England won!

We were all very ready for bed after that!
