Monica and Nick's World Adventure travel blog

We arrived in the morning and checked into our hostel which had a swimming pool !

Set off for the waterfalls at lunchtime and had a snack before taking the train from the welcome centre to the Gargantua del Diablo (Devils throat). The waterfalls are amazing. There is so much water cascading down and they carry on as far as the eye can see. There is also so much wildlife. We saw many different butterflies, birds, lizards, tucans and a couple of small alligators (caiman?). We took a boat trip back down the river and then headed back to the hostel. We met a couple who we had had dinner with at Siga La Vaca in Bs As so we met up with them for dinner plus drinks. Steak was good as always, and for a change had white wine which was also good !

Next day went back to Iguazu to do the rest of the waterfalls (there is a lot to see !). We walked around the various lookouts and then took a speed boat that takes you close to the waterfalls, and underneath them ! The power of the water coming down is something else, it is difficult to breathe as there is so much water and spray in the air !

Feeling refreshed (and soaking wet !) we crossed over to the island (San Martin) which is in the middle of the falls. A short steep climb takes you to some great view points of the various falls. We then headed back as a thunder storm started.

In the evening we went back to the same restaurant (La Ruelta ?) for our last argentinian steak.
