Kaskaskia River looking south - Rte 50 bridge

a little story

Every town has something to boast about. We found Carlyle's reason to boast! They have a suspension bridge that is a National Historic Site, and they named it after a local Korean War hero. The way over the Kaskaskia River was once a buffalo path, then an Indian path to get the buffalo, then a path and trail for pioneers heading west.
