Mt Cook - Jun 17, 2007 - Mount Cook National Park, New Zealand

After our final week of work we headed back for a night with Dave and Jo before starting our next tour of the south island. We headed off south and made it to the beautiful Lake Tekapo just after lunch. We stopped and walked around the church of the good sheppard and took lots of photos. Then we headed on to Mt Cook. We had heard stories from almost everyone we met saying that its always cloudy at Mt Cook, you'll never get to see anything. However it was our lucky day and we had a lovely crisp clear afternoon, with perfect visibility. We had a really nice drive down to the village and had a bit of a walk around with lots of photos along the way. Then we headed on up to Twizel where we were booked to stay the night. It got very cold very quickly, but we cooked up a big chili and had a nice night after a very busy day.
