Today, we had the most incredible drive. We got up early in Watson Lake and left as quickly as we could. We knew that the trip would take a long time and had word that there was lots of snow in the mountains.
The drive went quickly for several hours as we drove over very good roads south of Watson Lake. Once we got to the Muncho Lake area, the scenery became spectacular. Muncho Lake is a jade green color that is truly amazing. When we saw it this spring it was snow-covered. This view is really worth the trip.
From that point onward, the snow got deeper on the sides of the roads, but we never had deep snow on the road.
The wildlife was varied and plentiful. We saw bald eagles and a large flock of sand hill cranes. We saw moose, deer, bison, stone sheep and elk.
It took all day to go 300 miles through the mountains. We are in Ft Nelson for the night. It is still cold -- in the 30's and low 40's. We are now heading basically south and should be to Washington in 2 or 3 more days.
I'll put in pictures as soon as I get an adequate internet connection.
