|This morning I woke up early. I had breakfast at the Shishangeni Private Lodge's restaurant. The food was okay, but the view was incredible. There were zebras, giraffes, and elephants walking around outside of the restaurant. It was very nice to see all of these animals in the wild. After breakfast, we departed from the lodge and went to the Sterkfontein Caves. The Sterkfontein Caves are very fascinating. The first adult ape-man was found by Dr. Broom in 1936. There are many interesting fossils that are as old as 3.5 million years old. Archaeologists have found about 500 skull, jaw, and teeth fossils of early Hominid humans. About 300 pieces of fossil wood and over 9,000 stone tools have been found. I took a tour of the caves, which were very cold because they are underground. The museum is very interesting. There are a ton of fossils and bones. Morgan really liked the gift shop. She bought a lot of souvenirs from the store. We had lunch at the restaurant right near the Sterkfontein Caves. We had a nice trip back to Upington to our hotel. For dinner, I was really hungry, so we ordered in room service and ate a little early. We went swimming for a hour and a half. I got ready for bed and went to sleep at 11:18 PM EST. I woke up in the middle of the night because I was still really hungry, so I went down to the shop in the hotel and got a cookie and some milk. I went back to sleep after that.
