Found a good park just off the interstate. Jim and I were both tired and sore from the beating we took in Louisianna. When I walked the dogs that evening, I notice this beautiful live oak tree and couldn't resist taking a picture.
For the first time in 5 weeks we were up early and on the road. It is Rebeccah's 7th birthday and we want to get home to surprise her. I called Savannah and got the time for the party and made sure that she wouldn't tell even Jennifer that we were coming.
After 5 weeks on the road and some 4500 plus miles I am ready to stay put for a while. It was a good trip. We traveled from the swelting, humid heat of south Alabama, to the refreshing fall air of Minnesota (with a little touch of winter thrown in) back to warm, not hot, weather of fall in Alabama.
Following the Mississippi as it changed from a gentle, flowing river to a mighty river of renown was a true adventure. Visiting old friends was an added blessing. While our life together started 40 years ago we now start a new phase of our life together. Our song for many years has been "On The Road Again'. Now it will be our theme song for these years of retirement.
Hope I haven't bored you all with this adventure. I know that there were many mistakes in my writing and I offer no excuses. Sorry I could't share more pictures. There were just too many.
Until the next adventure........Love to you all.....Jim and Sarah
Oh and we did surprise Rebeccah. She ran and threw her little arms around us and didn't want to let go. When she finally let go and turned away she put her face in her hands and sobbed. She was fighting tears of love and joy as were we all......
