We drove to Tybee Island this morning. They happened to be having a Turtle Festival. They have "Turtle Crossing" signs on the roads. I (Cheryl) went up in the lighthouse. Garry is not too keen on heights so he stayed on the ground. We then went back into Savannah to look around. We decided to wait until Charleston to ride a tour bus mainly because they are doing so much re-construction on the buildings we thought we would see more walking. We located the famous "Lady and Sons" restaurant. Paula Deen's restaurant - she is on the Food network. We did not eat there - they start lining up at 9:30 in the morning for reservations. We went back down to River Street and ate lunch. The building we ate in was built in 1820. Savannah has a lot of town squares that are grassy with canopy trees covering them and usually a fountain in the middle. These are usually every 4 blocks or so. I can just see the Southern ladies in their big skirts cooling off here. I really don't know how they did it with all those clothes - it's been so hot a muggy.
