Greg's 2007 Odyssey travel blog

Today, Glen, Val & I went to Hardin, IL for my last catfish lunch before I leave for home tomorrow. While there, we also stopped at the farmer's market so that we could get some more Amish pickled beets (to die for).

When we returned home, the RV service center called to report that the coach was painted but that they could not clear the brake controller of a short code. So they tore into the trailer and discovered that the back axle brake drums that hold the magnets that activate the brake shoes were badly worn. They also decided to replace the connector cable that connects the trailer to the coach's plug. They also suggested repacking the wheel axle bearings, since they had the wheels off.

About 5 Pm, they again called to tell me that they had just come back from road testing the coach/trailer and that all systems were operating to spec - I had breaks, break lights & turn signals on both. I will go in tomorrow, transfer all the stuff I had at Glen & Val's, load the SUV on the trailer and then head for Tulsa, OK (my 1st layover destination on my way back to Chandler, AZ).

I hate to leave friends and family, but I am anxious to get home to see my new granddaughter and go to my other granddaughter's wedding reception next weekend.
