Visit to Precious Moments and the White Rose B & B & Winery
Sep 28, 2007
|Yesterday when we awoke we discovered gray low overcast skies with fog. We had our morning coffee and talked about a plan for the day. By the time we were ready to go, the fog had lifted and the sun was shining brightly.
We drove to the Precious Moments Chapel. Many parts of this wonderful place have been closed since we were here last. The campground, dancing waters, wedding chapel, Victorian house, and associated parts of the complex were all closed. Also we noticed that the grass needed to be mowed and in general, the upkeep was needing some attention.
We talked to some people about friends of ours who used to work here and they told us that Sam was now living in the Phillipines. I hope they will keep this place open. It is so beautiful and such a peaceful and spiritual place. I will post a few pictures for you.
After leaving the Precious Moments complex, we drove through town trying to find the White Rose B & B. It had been suggested by a friend that we visit here and have a meal.
We stumbled on the place and went inside to look around. We decided to stay for lunch which was reasonable, but the 7 course dinner for two at $96.00 was out of our reach.
We had a delicious lunch and ordered the wine tasting as well.
Marilyn had Irish onion soup and 1/2 a chicken salad sandwich, while I tried the leek & potato soup and 1/2 a corned beef sandwich. These lunches were delicious and priced at only $6.00 each. The wine tasting was only $5.00 each and consisted of 11 wines made on the property. We opted not to purchase the wine at $26.00 per bottle.
Marilyn was ready to go back to the RV and take a nap, so we did just that.
In the evening we had leftover spaghetti amore and watched "Survivor". I went to bed around 9:00 PM to read for awhile before dropping off to sleep.
We slept with the windows open again. The weather is wonderful and we are so happy to be on the road again.
I have pictures to post for you, so I will get started on that. We are moving today but we are in no hurry as we are only going south for 100 miles or so. We just can't wait to see what is around the bend....
