Another spectacular little town, Camden Hills, along the coast of Maine. The state park was in the hills but only 1 mile outside of town. We spent a couple days cycling in and out of town and along country roads. In the evening, we took in the local flavor at pubs AND, finally experienced our first Maine-lobster dinner. I have to say though, the fresh crab claws we're even better than the lobster.
On a side bike ride, Tom stopped at an apple orchard where he bought the freshest apple he had ever eaten. Talking to a seasonal worker, he thought the job sounded pretty cool. There is now talk of him working for a season in an apple orchard somewhere in the future.
Of course, he had just completed a fantastic "endo" manuever a few hours earlier. That's where the front tire of the bike dives into a hole (in between two large boulders in this case) and the rider goes "ass over teakettle", or more specifically, over the handlebars. So his head was fine, but the large point of a boulder in his lower back may have influenced his reasoning a few hours later at the orchard. We'll see.
