Yesterday was off to a bad start with no internet service at Hannibal. We did have time for coffee while waiting for it to get light enough outdoors, for me to begin the outdoor chores associated with moving day.
It took me an hour and a half to get everything hooked up and ready to go. The result of that was that we started our journey an hour later than we had planned but were on the road by 8:05 AM.
It started to rain after we had driven about 40 miles, and rained on us all the way to Liberty, MO. We arrived shortly before noon after an uneventful trip. The good folks at Liberty RV gave us a car to go have some lunch while they got started on the RV. By the time we got back they had the fireplace switch replaced and the seals on our fantastic fans lubricated per a service bulletin. They were unable to repair the day/night shade because the person who does that is in Germany on vacation. They did offer to remove it, repair it and ship it to us but we would be without a shade for a few weeks and then would have to pay for shipping, so we declined. We will have it repaired in Texas.
We also asked them to repair one drawer in the bedroom dresser, which would not close properly. That was done in no time and we were back on the road by 1:30 PM.
We had planned to spend two days in the Kansas City area but, thanks to the excellent work by Liberty RV, we were able to drive on to Carthage, MO, two days ahead of schedule.
They had room for us at the "Big Red Barn RV Park", and we were soon settled in.
It feels so good to be on the road again. This is what makes this lifestyle so enjoyable. We are in a very nice part of Missouri, parked in a nice place, with an entirely different view, yet we are still at home, sleeping in our own bed, etc. Wow!!
We slept with the windows open last night. It was great!
This morning we are up and at 'em after sleeping in until after 7:30 AM. We have enjoyed the fireplace this morning, along with our soft music and hot coffee. It just doesn't get any better than this!
Time to get started on the day. We are staying for a couple of days and I just can't wait to see what this day has in store.....
