Route 66 travel blog

I awoke at 3:30 this morning and couldn't get back to sleep. So, I messed around on the internet and then went back to bed at 6. I was awakened at 7:30 with people talking outside my RV. Peeked through the curtain and there was a car parked right in front of my rig. Pulled on my clothes, went out, and asked the guy standing there if he was planning to leave his car. He said "yes, all day". They were taking a bus (a lot of people were out there) to Branson. I told him I could not get out with his car parked in front of me. Finally he moved his car and I moved the motorhome. There were scads of parking places but he had to have that one. Geesh!! Maybe I need to put out cones.

I got a call this AM from Pete checking to see if my breaking system was OK. I called him as I left Goshen because the light came on...wasn't a problem though. He told me he was heading to an FMCA rally in Sedalia, MO. That was only 125 miles north of St. Robert. I joined FMCA (Family Motor Coach Association) just last week. I needed a break from driving so here I am in Sedalia, MO.

I'm so glad that I came since I've never been through the Ozarks. Driving the up and down hills was like being on the Scream Machine without the curves. The portion of the Lake of the Ozarks that I saw was beautiful...the water is a deep blue.

Traveling through Sleeper, MO I saw a big, white mule. I immediately thought of Kelly.

When I got to the Missouri State Fairground (the rally location), I didn't have to do much. One neighbor hooked up my hose...mine wasn't long enough and he had a ten foot one...then he put on an extra pressure regulator that he had. I guess I'll go to Walmart for more hose and a pressure regulator. My neighbor on the other side was showing me how to unhook my towed and did it for me...like I have have never done it.

Gotta love men...they are always there to help.
