Well, after driving most of the afternoon and evening we arrived at Folsom State Park, CA in the DARK! This was the first time we had arrived anywhere in the pitch black. We set up as little as we could and finished setting up in the morning. I think after last night, we will avoid traveling at night if possible.
We walked the dogs down to the lake and were really surprised! It's almost not there! Folsom Lake is a dammed lake and the water level gets very low during the summer and beginning of the fall when they get little to no rain. There are signs everywhere for closed boat docks and no refunds from the campground. I guess others are shocked when they arrive too. There was plenty of water for the dogs to have a blast swimming and clean the salt from their fur. It's nice to have them swim in a fresh water for a change. At least now Olie and I can say we've walked on the bottom of Folsom Lake!
Later in the evening, we met with our friend Charles and had a wonderful dinner. Sacramento seems like an interesting town. We'll have to see what we can get into!
