US ON THE BOAT TUMBLAREN

SUN BEGINNING TO SET OVER THE WATER

WE DECIDED TO STAY 2 DAYS IN DARWIN. WE STAYED FAIRLY CLOSE BY TO THE CITY AND SPENT THE TUESDAY IN TOWN WHILE WE WERE GETTING THE CAR SERVICED. WE HAD READ BROCHURES ABOUT THE TOUR TUB, A BUS THAT TAKES YOU AROUND TO ALL THE DIFFERENT SITES OF DARWIN AND AS WE WERE CARLESS WE THOUGHT THAT WOULD BE SUIT PERFECTLY. WE WENT AND HAD A LOOK AT THE WWII OIL TUNNELLS ( YOU COULD GET ON AND OFF THE BUS AT DIFFERENT LOCATIONS ALL DAY IF YOU FELT LIKE IT) FIREST AND THEY WERE REALLY INTERESTING, APPARENTLELY THE GOVERNMENT SPENT MILLIONS ON THEM AND THEY WERE NEVER USED AND ABOUT 13 MONTHS LATE! WE THEN WALKED DOWN TO THE WHARF AND CHECKED OUT THE PEARL EXHIBITION. THE BUS PICKED US BACK UP AND WE TRAVELLED AROUND FOR A LITTLE LONGER AND THEN HEADED IN TO THE DARWIN MALL. WE DID A HEAP OF SHOPPING, WENT TO THE DUCKS NUTS FOR LUNCH AND DECIDED TO BOOK A SUNSER CRUISE ON A SAILING BOAT CALLED THE TUMBLAREN FOR THAT NIGHT AS THE ECLIPSE WAS DUE TO HAPPEN. THE CRUISE WAS EXCELLENT AND WE MET SOME REALLY COOL PEOPLE THAT WE ENDED UP GOING BACK INTO TOWN WITH LATER. WE ALL HAD CHAMPAGNE THE WHOLE WAY, WE BOTH HAD A GREAT TIME. THE ECLIPSE STARED ABOUT 7.30 NT TIME SO WE WERE ALL STILL ON THE BOAT WHICH WAS FANTASTIC! WE BOTH LOVED DARWIN AND THE NT, IT WILL BE HARD TO BEAT BUT WE WILL HEAD FOR THE BORDER TOMORROW AND SEE WHAT WA HAS TO OFFER.
