We made it to Glen Ellyn and found that Dick's neice and nephew had contacted the Glen Ellyn Police Department and they offered that we could park our RV on the street adjacent to the nice Glen Ellyn Park just a block from their home. We carefully negotiated the small streets and did leave our RV there for two nights without incident. We had a great time visiting Dick's sister Mary Anne and her husband Bob and seeing their lovely new home in Carol Stream. Unfortunately the first night we were there they experienced a terrific thunderstorm that severely damaged the back storm door on the home and also damaged the outdoor light next to the door. Repairs have already started. However watching the lightening show earlier in the evening was enjoyable and mother nature really put on a tremendous show of light and power!
The day passed all too quickly but ended with a very enjoyable time with Mary Anne and Bob's son and his wife and two children joining us for dinner where we talked and laughed for hours. Family is so important and so often the necessities of life and earning a living get in the way of that. It would be nice to be able to see Mary Anne and Bob more often, but we do see them at their condo on Sanibel Island when we are in Florida in the winter.
