After we left St Regis, Montana, we drove to Buck Knives in Post Falls, Idaho. We took a guided tour of their plant. Buck Knives used to be located in El Cajon, CA. During this trip I broke the blade off of my Buck Tool (it is like a Leatherman but a lot better). You can't buy a Buck Tool anymore because they were infringing on the Leatherman patent. The tour was very complete and it took about 90 minutes. It is one of those things you would never normally think about doing but it sure was interesting. While we were on the tour, they put a fixed my Buck Tool for free. All their knives have a lifetime warranty. During the tour the guide talked about how hard the steel is they use and that a lot of people complain that it makes sharpening very difficult. Then he showed us how long it takes them to sharpen a knife....... about 10 seconds when you have the right tools and know how. He said they sharpen knives for $5.00. After the tour, I found my two other Buck Knifes and had them sharpen them.
From there we drove to Oregon and spent the night in a RV park in Hermiston. I was extremely tired and achy and I thought I might be getting sick. We went to bed early and got up late and I was much better in the morning. Whew, I was not coming down with anything, just tired. Then, today, we drove to Silverton, Oregon which is near Salem, Oregon. We are staying in a member rv park, Coast to Coast, so we are saving a little money on camping fees. We are going to stay here for 3 days before continuing to Corvallis to visit friends. I will post some picture of what we do here in Silverton/Salem (probably pictures of Susan at the bar tasting wine).
