Ed & Marilyn 'The Happy Wanderers' travel blog

Yesterday was a really slow day here at the caves. The kids are back in school in this area and most of the tourists are gone. We did have some folks from Oregon and some from Michigan yesterday. Most are on their way back home because they have kids starting school next week. Yesterday was so slow that I had not even one person sign up for the Cameron Cave tour. I finally was able to take two tours of Mark Twain Cave but that was it for the day. What a life!

Marilyn and I began our day as usual, by sharing our morning coffee and talking about our trip routing once we leave here at the end of September. We still plan to go through Eureka Springs and Hot Springs, Arkansas, then into Texas, probably with a stop at Livingston, before moving on down to the valley. We are Escapees and Good Sam members, and yesterday I joined the Passport America club. I chose to pay for three years which saved us some money.

The weather continues to be hot and humid here in northeast Missouri. Our poor A/C has run for the last month or so. It even runs at night because the temperature remains in the 80 to 85 degree mark most of the time, all night long. This morning it is raining but the A/C continues to run, keeping us comfortable.

We were in bed early yesterday evening and are awake early this morning. Marilyn is putting the coffee on as I write in the journal. We have some things to do today, before going to work.

Speaking of work, I have only seven days of work left while Marilyn has only five days remaining.

I spoke to my cousin, John Fry, on the phone and we plan to get together sometime before Marilyn and I leave here.

We are sure looking forward to seeing our friends from Canada again. We will be meeting them in the valley. Of course we look forward to seeing our other friends also. :)

Other things we look forward to are the wonderful fruits and vegetables, the casual get-togethers with friends, sleeping with our windows open, the fun times in Mexico, the laid back life style, warm, dry sunshine during the winter, and all of the delightful joys which go along with being a full-time RVer.

Well, my friends, I have rambled on long enough. Marilyn has placed a cup of coffee in front of me, and it is time to see what this day has in store......
