Bat on the wall

Yesterday was a pretty nice morning but the day got quite hot as morning turned to afternoon. Marilyn and I had our morning coffee and Marilyn decided that she wanted to go into Cameron Cave with me to take some pictures.

We had a family of five waiting to take the 10:00 AM tour. They were all from Wisconsin and they were lots of fun. They gave me permission to post their pictures and, in return, I gave them a business card with our web site listed so that they could see the pictures.

Marilyn also wanted to take some pictures of the bats in the cave, so we had a really good time on that tour. These were very nice people and we enjoyed having them.

I had only two people on the 12 noon tour and it appeared that no one would show up at 3:00 PM. I had just decided that my day was over and had stood up to go put the radio, keys and flashlight away, when the door opened and two groups entered, requesting tickets for Cameron Cave. We started about 10 minutes late but had a good tour group.

When that tour ended we carried the lanterns back down the hill, plugged them in to the chargers and put the keys and radios away. I stowed my flashlight on the way out and went home. We were having dinner with friends.

I cleaned up as Marilyn chatted with me, then dressed and we were ready to go have dinner with Al & Linda. Just at that time, Bud & Nancy drove in. They have been to a family reunion in Minnesota and we were glad to see them. Hershey was glad to be back and he made a bee line for our RV. He wasn't feeling at home until he had been inside our RV at least twice.

We drove to El Vaqueros Mexican restaurant, which is a really good place to eat. We enjoyed a delicious meal and had a couple of margeritas. Yummy!!

We could hear the thunder and the heavy rain outdoors so we lingered over dinner with good conversation.

By the time we dragged ourselves away from the table, the rain had stopped and we drove back home. We sat outdoors under Al & Linda's awning, enjoying more good conversation, before finally calling it a night. We walked home in the dark and were soon in bed for the night.

Well, my friends, Marilyn has served me a cup of coffee, and I need to post a few pictures, so I had better wrap this up. You know me, I just can't wait to see what this day has in store....
