Wheat field with St Lawrence Gulf backdrop - gorgeous!

Just another pretty PEI view

They call this The Gentle Island. It is bucolic. We took a drive across the island to the St Lawrence north shore, into Anne of Green Gables land and into the National Park. Pretty and peaceful. Very agricultural here. A sign as you leave says "If you have a load of potatos, you must stop at the potato inspection station" or something to that effect. They grow 1/3 of Canada's potato consumption here. Gregg thinks his brother Gary should plant an ocean behind his crops on the farm in Iowa - makes a beautiful backdrop!

The bridge connecting PEI to the mainland in New Brunswick is 8 miles long - the world's longest brdige that spans waters that freeze. It's only 10 years old - prior to that, ferry access was the only way to get your car/RV to PEI.
