Monday August 6

Chuck and I slept in the Motorhome last night. We had too, it was parked in Ed &

Sue's driveway and I think they were getting use to it. They started to landscape around it and match it with the paint on their house. . Really, the weather was beautiful and it allowed the boys to sleep in the bed and not on the floor and we really like the bed in the motorhome. We just hung out most of the morning and Jill and Carrie (Sue's other daughter) came over. Tiffany & Brian surprised me with a birthday cake and everyone sang "Happy Birthday". We ordered out for lunch (yes, eating AGAIN!) The pizza was delicious. Everyone started leaving. Tiffany, Brian and the boys left about 2:30, about the time my phone started ringing with "home" issues. So much for a quiet vacation. I am really going to miss Tiffany and her group. We left out about 4:00. Chuck wanted to get a head start towards Grand Lake. We went through some beautiful country in Michigan. Michigan, north of Midland, (sorry Midlanders) is really beautiful. It was really by accident (not literally), we were looking for cheap gas, so we got off the M30 exit and we never found gas, so we just went up 30 then to 33. We headed towards Mullet Lake. Jack Fernee and Marge live at Mullet Lake. Jack is Chuck's first boss at GM in the Tool & Die department. Jack is the reason for the GM reunion every year. They also live in FL. Anyways, they have been asking us to come to visit, so Chuck decided we would go. We called Jack and told him we were on our way. They were so happy we were coming. I looked for deer along the way. I spotted a lot of turkeys (outside the MH ). I was excited I could spot them and know what they were. Funny story... I am looking for deer.... I see this deer under a tree in this person's front yard, I don't say anything cause I thought it was one of those "decoy" deer I kept spotting. So I keep looking at it, about that time Chuck says "DEER!!" the decoy deer runs away; does that mean he spotted it first? As you get into northern Michigan the deer in the "deer crossing" signs start getting bigger and heftier looking, I think it means "Elk crossing", however I didn't see any Elk either (and neither did Chuck). We got to Jack's about... I don't know... before dark. The lake was beautiful. Yes, I could stay up there. The weather...beautiful. Marge had cherry dump cake and ice cream and we visited for a while. Jack has a hook up and pad for motorhome's so we stayed at their place.

Love to all,

Chuck & Donna
