A Day of Rest - Jul 22, 2007 -

(Ron writing) We had a nice quiet day of rest today. We attended the Faith Reformed Church here in Brookings SD. It is a small friendly church with about 80 people attending this morning. It was a special Sunday for them as they were celebrating their 35th anniversary. We stayed for the short commemoration service and program after the regular service. While enjoying some cake and coffee we met several people and enjoyed visiting with them. I even met one person from my old hometown of Boyden, IA and another fellow that knew several people from Boyden.

On their bulletin at the end of the order of worship section they have a slogan: "The worship has ended: the service begins." I like that.

We spent the rest of the day reading and relaxing at home in the campground. We also visited with several of our friends and relatives on the phone. We love the free cell phone minutes on the weekends.
