Oh The Places You'll Go - How fitting to begin our journey!
Week One of Our Amazing Journey began in Monson, MA.
The girls and I headed out from our home in Wickford, RI to our home for several days in Monson. It is just east of Springfield, MA. I chose this location because it is an area we have never visited before, although it is close to where we live, and it has several museums all arranged around a quadrangle located behind the Springfield Public Library.
One of the great advantages of having our wireless internet connection in the camper is so that we can Google driving directions, the opening and closing times of places we visit, and overall plan our side trips, as well as our overall trip. One of the really important things to remember, however, is to look carefully at ALL the information. For example, I looked up the hours and the directions to head to the museums and even figured out the best place to park. What I failed to notice was which DAYS the museums would be open. Of course, we headed out on a Monday and they are all closed Sunday and, yes you guessed it, Monday. We hung out at the Springfield library instead and made the same trek the next day. What else can I say but "Google and learn."
