Tad lo waterfall

We woke to driving rain and the heart-breaking realization that we would be on a scooter in that rain. No ponchos, of course, we had forgotten to bring them, so it was going to be a "wet one". We didn't exactly rush out so we got a late start but eventually got on the road and headed towards Tat lo Waterfall. It was very cold and very wet so we stopped to get some hot noodle soup at a roadside restaurant before continuing on. The drive itself though, was beautiful and we drove through many little villages with mountain views and plantations (though mostly rubber plantations) all along the way. When we pulled up to Tat lo in mid-afternoon, we thought it one of the most picturesque waterfall settings we had yet seen. We spied some bungalows sitting precariously on the edge of the river, overlooking the waterfall and that was exactly where I wanted to be. It took us awhile to find the main lodge, Tat lo Lodge, and rent the bungalow but it was well worth the effort. Our bungalow was situated right next to the rapids and the sound and sight of the rushing water was very soothing. We relaxed for a couple hours before driving over to the main lodge (which was very nice) to eat dinner. The meal was superb, comparable with the Frenchie meal, maybe a little better quality. After dinner we motored back to the bungalow and went to sleep to the sound of the rushing waterfall.
