Well, after a long day's journey, I have finally made it to Urbino. Although it was hard, it was not as bad as I thought it was going to be. I have certainly gotten to practice my Italian lately, since no one here or anywhere close speaks ANY English. I took a train from Florence to Bologna, then from Bologna to Pesaro. Fom Pesaro, I took a bus (a first for me in Italy) to Urbino. The trip was beautiful! between Bologna and here, I saw nothing but countryside, full of fields of sunflowers and lavender, and huge expanses of vineyards. And it oly got better the closer I came to my new (temporary) home. Urbino is in an area (Puglia) made up of rolling hills, vineyards, and farmland. Urbino, however, towers above everything else, so that the view extends for miles in every direction. It really is incredible. Also, as far as I can tell, as of now I am the only American in the whole city, so it is a totally different exerience than Florence. I am already in awe, and can't wait to see what tomorrow brings!
