Ahhhh,Christmas by the palm fringed white sandy beaches of Ghana......Got to hate that!!!Pig on the spit, roasted veges, puddings, fresh fruit, cold beer and a lovely 33 degrees....

The journey down through Ghana has gone without a hitch. The only problem being the humidity. This is the first time we've really bhit high humidity and it is sapping to say the least.During the day it isn't as bad but at night time it is virtually impossible to get off to a comfortable sleep and then you wake up soaking wet in a pool of your own sweat. In fact ione night while bushcamping in central Ghana in the rainforest I though I was going to die by cooking from the inside out as it was so hot and humid. It was unbearable to say the least hoepfully there isn't too many more nights like that but I'm not holding my breath.....

On the coast now its not too bad humidity wise,at least its possible to go for a swim to cool off.its beautiful in this part of Ghana,a real tropical paradise but also very interesting from a historical point of view with the old slave forts and the old towns which don't appear to have changed much over the years...

Really is a nice change to be away from the dust and dirt of the desert areas although the humidity sort of balances it out a bit.Saying that its great to be in Ghana even if its just for the vibe the place has.everywhere you go or every little village you pass through has a sound system pumping out music as loud as you could possibly get it.You actually hear the villages before you see them. Also the prevalance of the church here is amazing.Every denomination of the christian faith is represented in every village. Some places there is more churches than houses. This leads to very funny shop names where people like to name their shops with a religious theme.Things like "Jesus Will Save You" bottle shop or "the Lord Will Strike You Down" hairdressers.Does make you laugh when you enter a village to see what the shops are called.....

Anyway, we're on the beach for christmas. Can't go wrong there.............
