Hi Everyone!

Well today we embark on our trip. We are going on the European Discovery tour with Contiki and it is our first day. We arrived in London this morning at 9 am and are off to a great start! We are staying in a really cool hotel and everyone is awesome. We have met people from all over the world.

We spent our day exploring London. We saw the London Eye, Buckingham Palace, Big Ben and of course did some shopping. Do you like the Bobby (Police) Hats that we found? We also found a place with the best fish and chips we have ever eaten.

The London Eye

London Eye!
, also known as the Millennium Wheel, is an observation wheel that completed construction in 1999 and opened to the public in March, 2000. As of June 2007, it is the largest observation wheel in the world, although ferris wheels such as The Star of Nanchang are larger.

The London Eye has become the most popular paid for UK visitor attraction, visited by over 3.5 million people a year.

Buckingham Palace is the official residence of the British monarch in London. The Palace is a setting for state occasions and royal entertaining and a major tourist attraction. It has been a rallying point for the British people at times of national rejoicing, crisis, and grief.

Tomorrow we are off to Dover and will give you another update then.

Mary
