Leaving on the boat cruise from Marina Grande

There is a fortress at the top of this cliff to look...

These rock formations are called the Faraglioni

I took lots of photos on the boat cruise yesterday but am only posting a few .. the internet connection is by satelite so uploading photos is very slow. According to my guidebook, Capri is 17 kms around. It's quite spectacular from the water (am I over-using the word "spectacular"?) Lots of points of interest, but the highlight is the blue grotto. When the tour boat gets there, you have to transfer into little rowboats (3 passengers & the rower-guy ... then the rower-guy tells you it's an extra 9 euros to go inside the grotto & he will accept tips afterward). Then you row to the entrance of the grotto where you have to duck down into the boat because the entrance is so small. Inside, you're in a large cave where the water glows an amazing shade of turquoise. The cruise was really nice, about 1.5 hours. Then I took the furnicular (cable car) from the port into Capri & walked around. It's mostly luxury shops; Hermes, Prada, Dolce & Gabbana. I'm going back today for the museum & maybe seeing if I can find the path to a Roman villa on the cliff.

More later. Send me messages please! Grazie.
