Wednesday June 13th.

Left Pammukkale yesterday, four hours on the local 'small' bus dırect to Selcuk. Travellers we had met suggested we stay at 'Jimmey's Place Hotel' as 'everybody' goes there. We had picked out two other places but decided to follow the flow with the hope of meeting other people. It was quite busy, full of Americans, Canadians + NZ & Assies, noisy but friendly. Unfortunatly the swimming pool was closed due to 'muddy rain' blocking the filters.(Mel stıll 2 - Sandra now 1!)

Today was our day at Ephesus (Efes) This boasts some of the best remains in Turkey and the largest Roman theatre seating 25000 people. Spent over 4 hours walking around the site avoidıng the numerous tour groups but its all specacular - well worth the visit. We even found a quiet spot for lunch. Finished off the day ı the Ethesus Museum where all the marble statues have been displayed. Sandra says that this is the third lot of ruins we have seen and she ıs now 'ruined out'.

Weather hot! - seeking shelter ın bars (fresh orange juice - cherries and necterines + the odd beer or two!) We ar feeling the heat more now that we have descended from the mountains, ıts far more oppresive here so must be careful not to get too much.

Tomorrow we ar planning a walk through the pine forests of the Dilek National Park on the coast - plenty of time for the swimming (Mel 3 Sandra 1!)
