For the lazy joeys
* Taking on the Terracotta warriors
* Taking on the Xan Bboy warriors (this was tougher!!)
* Protected by the city wall at night
For those kangaroos keeping it real out there!
After getting an overnight soft sleeper (apparently real backpackers don't go the easy option. To those people I say who got off the train happy and ready to go??) we met up with Phil (a chilled out German dude we met in Beijing) and explored the city a bit. Xian is a city of about 7 million people and still has its old city wall standing. Pretty amazing to see as to walk to wall involves a 14 km trek!!
Anyway, the next day saw what everyone comes to Xian for.....those famous warriors!! Having been looking forward to them for some time, we had high expectations....well we did until a few people we talked to made them low expectations.
All in all, they are pretty amazing to see. Although the most amazing thing about them is contemplating what was going through the Emporer Minghs head when he ordered them to be constructed. I mean here was a dude that unified china, ruled fiercly, but was scared enough of the after life to build an army. Thats pretty amazing!!
After taking on those terracotta warriors, we ran into some real warriors....some bboys from Xian!! They were out doing promo work for adidas, but that didn't stop Timmy breaking it down with them!! Althogh he is a bit out of shape (too much beer I think) he managed to hold his own, earning enough respect to be given the front row seat at their show, as well as chillin with the bboys afterwards!!
Other highlights were the hot springs and finally finding Chau Si Pow in China!!
