Sometimes I think things are going too well out here! From 13-17 Dec I was sent to Latina, Italy (40 miles south of Rome) to the Nato CIS School to take a course. What a rough life I lead! It was a great course and I defintely learned a lot. I'm hoping it will come in useful back in Canada as well. The instructor (Howard) took several of us out for dinner as well (picture above) as Latina is quite small and he knows all the best places to go.
On my course I was the only North American (besides Howard who is American). The remainder of the students were soldiers from Spain, Italy, Germany, UK, Poland, and the Netherlands. It was very interesting getting to know all the different ways in which other countries operate their militaries.
In the end I had a great time. My boss in Bosnia was kind enough to let me and my co-worker (who was also on the course) stay an extra day and fly home on the Sunday instead of Saturday, so off to Rome we went!
